Upon acceptance to the College, students are provided with a free computing account, an account that is required to gain centralized, authenticated access to basic network resources. The Acceptable Use Policy governs the use of college owned computer resources and services.
A unique user-ID (log-on name) and password is required for each student to access their assigned account. User-IDs uniquely identify specific individuals. Student user-IDs are nine characters and are non-descript, all beginning with an "N" and ending with random numbers. The assigned single, unique user-ID is used on all computer platforms, and authenticated access is required. Managed via the NWF PortalGuard Password System where first-time users authenticate using their student ID and date of birth. To minimize the threat of compromise, the following account policies are enforced:
- Password length minimum of 8 characters and maximum of 64 characters.
- Must include characters from at least three of the following categories:
- Uppercase characters (A - Z)
- Lowercase characters (a - z)
- Base 10 digits (0 - 9)
- Non-alphanumeric (!, $, #, or %)
- Passwords must be unique and cannot be reused.
- Users must change their password at the initial login.
- Computer login passwords must be reset every 180 days.
Passwords must not be stored in a manner or place where unauthorized persons might gain access to them. Passwords must never be shared or revealed to anyone. The account owner is responsible for all actions linked with the assigned user-ID and password.
Student accounts are deactivated, but not deleted, after three academic terms of inactivity beyond the student's active enrollment period.

Enrolled students, including distance education courses, have access to RaiderNet web portal, which provides a single point entry for transactions such as registration, transcripts, and payments, in addition to links to appropriate resources like degree audit and the distance education platform, Canvas.
The institution uses Canvas as its learning management system. Access requires each student to authenticate through a unique username and password, providing a reliable method for verifying student identity. When a course includes a proctored assessment, faculty provide students with appropriate proctoring options, including the institution’s onsite testing center, an approved remote proctoring location, or online proctoring.
